Given the hectic pace of life in Northern Virginia, it helps to find an expert that can serve multiple functions while making your life a bit easier. Desiree brings a wealth of experience to the table in an effort to do just that! Over the last 15 years, she has served clients throughout Northern Virginia as a real estate agent and interior designer, developing an intimate understanding of the area and the opportunities. Blending the two skill sets, she has helped sellers capitalize on the strengths of their home’s location (including the school district, commuter access, and shopping) while helping them identify opportunities to improve their home’s curbside appeal and inner charm.
As an Army spouse for over 20 years, and a military relocation specialist, Desiree understands permanent change of station (PCS) moves. She appreciates the buyer’s need to learn an area and understand options in a very short visit, sometimes sight unseen. She’s built a reputation for working with clients from dawn to well after dusk to make sure they have seen it all and are happy with their choice.
Desiree has gathered a strong supporting cast of handymen, contractors, painters, electricians, and lawn care specialists who provide excellent workmanship to help position our sellers to garner the highest possible offers. While working with potential buyers attending an open house, her background in interior design (and the fact that she's a renovation junkie!) helps her to paint a mental image of how a house can change visually or structurally to become the home of their dreams.
After graduating from Sweet Briar, a women’s college in Virginia, Desiree entered into the financial industry before becoming a loan originator for home mortgages. She worked in land development as a designer, an investor, and a property manager before starting a small business selling fine furnishings. In 2006 she became a designer for Gilded Manor. Her experiences have helped her develop an in-depth understanding of real estate transactions from start to finish, an understanding that helps her to guide our clients through their transactions with both comfort and confidence. Her long-term partnership with Marcie Flournoy presents a formidable micro-team to have on your side during your home-buying process.
She has been a resident of Northern Virginia since 2006. She is married and has two amazing daughters. Her husband grew up in the area, attending West Springfield High School. When she is not living and breathing real estate, she likes to garden, relax at the beach, cook gourmet meals, enjoy fine foods, and craft delicious cocktails!
